Bonus Episode Explosion Spectacular
Aaron and Will reunite to talk about some comic books related to canceled TV series. It’s their way of coming up with a reason to record an episode without actually watching television.
Episode 30 - Andy Barker, P.I.
Andy Barker, P.I. aired on NBC in 2007 and became the second brilliant Andy Richter show to be canceled. Now that Andy has a steady gig on the Tonight Show, it’s doubtful we’ll see any further attempts at a TV series from him, and that is the worst news in the entire world.
Episode 29 - Life on Mars
Life on Mars ran on ABC for only one season despite a strong start in the ratings. Luckily for the show’s creators, ABC informed them of the cancellation with enough time to write an actual ending to the series. The story follows Detective Sam Tyler as he travels back to 1973 from 2008… OR DOES HE? Seriously. Does he?
News from the Chopping Block: Issue 28
In this issue we’ve got a special presentation of TBL Cast, a podcast devoted to the canceled CW show The Beautiful Life, hosted by friends of the show Sean Denis and Bethany. Then it’s back to a huge load of cancellations including always-the-same-thing-fest The Cleaner, never-funny-fest The Bill Engvall Show, and outer-space-kiss-fest Defying Gravity. Also, some exciting news for all you Primeval fans. We don’t want to give away too much, but it involves how the show isn’t canceled anymore!
Episode 28 - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles follows the time-travel-laden adventures of a family always on the verge of being murdered by robots. You know, your typical sitcom. The show lasted two seasons on Fox before being scrapped due to low ratings and the entire cast and crew having been robo-slaughtered in front of their sobbing families.*
*The validity of this last part is questionable.

News from the Chopping Block: Issue 27
In a rare instance we actually cover a show that has yet to be canceled in hopes that it will not be canceled: Dollhouse. We review the first season and let you know why you should watch. Also, the Emmys just happened, so why shouldn’t we say a thing or two about the only canceled show to win some this year? (It was Pushing Daisies). Besides that, we’ve got an update on everyone’s favorite show with “Ruby” in the title, Ruby and the Rockits, and some typical DVD-style time killin’. I mean news. Listen up, dirtbag! Oh, that reminds me, the winner of the Mean Contest is announced at the end of this episode.
Episode 27 - Fear Itself
Fear Itself ran on NBC in the summer of 2008 before being replaced by some stupid thing called the Olympics. Apparently the Peacock didn’t think people wanted to be scared once the Olympics ended, though, and Fear Itself disappeared without so much as a goodbye. Now the entire series, including all the unaired episodes, is available on DVD, and we’re here to tell you it’s… different.
News from the Chopping Block: Issue 26
In this issue there’s no real news, so we talk at great length about the special features on the Harper’s Island DVD. But don’t worry, it’s not boring. We mostly make fun of the Harper’s Globe webseries, and you know how we get about that kind of stuff. If you don’t know, the way we get is “ridiculous.” We’ve also got a review of the Middleman comic book tie-in and a load of DVD news for you to thrill over. What a fantastic time for all of us!
Episode 26 - The Beast
The Beast roared (get it?) onto A&E in January 2009, slashing and clawing (get it?) the cable-based, same-time-slot competition, of which there was none. However, it had to stay behind and lick its wounds (get it?) when Patrick Swayze’s worsening prostate cancer did not allow him to continue prowling (get it?) the airwaves. So, with its leader of the pack (get it?), alpha male (get it?), head of the pride (GET IT?) out of the jungle (GET IT? DO YOU?), the Beast was shot to death by the kind of gun one might use against a large, mammalian predator (OH MY LORD DO YOU GET IT?). But now, thanks to the magic of DVD, you too can mount this crime drama on your wall of taxidermy (THESE ARE JOKES ABOUT BEASTS).
News from the Chopping Block: Issue 25
We’re back from a three-week news hiatus, and boy did that ever turn sour. Not only did some stuff get canceled, but also some people died. We’re not even kidding. But on a lighter note, we have a little chat about the murders of The Goode Family and Surviving Suburbia, review the first season of the 1987 series Wiseguy, and overload you with DVD updates. It’s that time of year, folks! The time of year where we do all those things we just said!
